Engineering Notes

Optical Measurement System

The turbidity-measurement system used:

  • infrared transmitters
  • infrared optical sensors
  • embedded signal acquisition circuitry

Water samples were placed inside a dedicated fixture where infrared light transmission characteristics were measured to estimate turbidity levels.

Embedded Interface and Display

The device included:

  • LCD display
  • touchscreen interface
  • portable embedded measurement system

The touchscreen interface allowed local interaction and control of measurement operations while the display visualized turbidity measurements in real time.
